Attend this 5-session speechcraft and learn public speaking - the practical way.
 
 
Speechcraft is a course that teaches participants the basics of public speaking. No prior experience in public speaking is necessary. This course is conducted in a friendly and supportive environment. You will be taught by experienced public speakers who will help you increase your confidence in speaking in front of others, by building up your communication, presentation and speech preparation skills. You will be taught the various aspects of public speaking such as organizing your speech, working with words, varying your voice, and using effective body language.
 
Speechcraft is a hands-on course, providing you with ample opportunities to practise your listening, speaking and thinking skills. To enable you to get the most out of this course, we are limiting the course to the first 30 participants who register. As the course is resource-intensive, we require a minimum of 10 participants. Enrolment fees will be refunded if we do not run Speechcraft.

 

 

Course materials and 3 months club membership are provided free to participants.
 

Course Details:

Date: 14 Nov, 21 Nov, 28 Nov, 5 Dec and 12 Dec (Fridays)

Time: 7pm to 10pm (Light Snacks will be served from 6.30pm)

Usual Fees: $350 per participant

Early Bird Discount: $300 per participant (if you sign up before 14th Oct 08)

Group Discount: $300 per participant (if you sign up in group of 2 or more)
Discount: $300 per participant (if you are member of other NUS Alumni clubs)

Experience the Power of Public Speaking Through Speechcraft!

An  8-week workshop by NUS Alumni Toastmasters Club

 

Speechcraft is a workshop that teaches participants the basics of public speaking, and no prior experience in public speaking is necessary. This course is conducted in a friendly, supportive environment and the professional camaraderie between you and the presenters makes the learning process enjoyable.

You will be taught by experienced toastmasters who will help you improve your confidence of speaking in front of others, by building up your communication skills, presentation skills and speech preparation skills. You will be taught the various aspects of public speaking such as beginning and organizing your speech, working with words, varying your voice and using effective gestures.

Speechcraft is a hands-on course, providing you with ample opportunities to practise your listening, speaking and thinking skills. At the start of the course you will receive a Toastmasters Speechcraft Handbook which contains a number of speech projects to work through during the course. Each week you will take part in an impromptu speaking session called Table Topics and watch experienced Toastmasters deliver educational sessions and prepared speeches. Educational sessions include topics such as how to prepare your speech, tips on delivery techniques, and how to speak off the cuff.

At the end of the course, you’ll "graduate", and receive a Toastmasters International Speechcraft Course Completion Certificate.  To enable you to get the most out of this workshop, we are limiting spaces to the first fifteen participants who register.  So hesitate no more – sign up for the workshop today!
